A Better Way to Take B12
I'm Kevin Gianni and I wanted to share with you my experiences with Vitamin B12. I've seen stats that show up to 40% of the population is low in Vitamin B12 - not just vegans, vegetarians or raw foodies.
Vitamin B12 is essential for proper neurological function an deficiency can lead to irreversible damage. Some people speculate that low B12 can be linked to the forgetfulness and loopy-ness of long term vegans and raw fooders.
While that's speculation, here's what's not...
It makes sense to supplement with B12, whether you're a conscious eater or not.
I've used B12 supplements and have taken shots before due to a slight deficiency that I had. The shots were most effective at raising my levels, but there are issues with them. One they're not cheap. A visit to the doctor and a shot could cost you $250 or more. They're also not as natural as most people would like. Many people don't like shots just based on what they are... an intrusive, unnatural treatment. Finally shots are scary to most. They are painful and not many people enjoy getting stuck with a needle!
The other way to take Vitamin B12 is by sublingual tablets that you absorb under your tongue. While these generally contain a sufficient dose of B12, many times you only absorb a small amount. This means that you're really not getting your money's worth. Subligual tablets will raise your B12 levels, but many times very slowly with a lot of waste.
When we were in Costa Rica, doing a juice fast, one of the women there told us about her experience with B12 patches and I wanted to hear more. She managed to raise her levels quickly using a patch that you put behind the ear once or twice a week.
I was thrilled to hear this and so I did some research.
What I found was that Vitamin B12 patches are a great alternative to tablets and shots.
They contain sufficient amounts of B12 (this product contains methylcobalamin - one of the best sources), they are easily absorbed through the skin in 24 hours, and they are reasonably priced compared to the other options.
This Vitamin B12 Patch contains 1000 mcg of Vitamin B12 or methylcobalamin. Others on the market contain cyanocobalamin which is a cheaper source of B12 that your body needs to convert.
Methylcobalamin is already ready for absorption by the body in the form it needs.
Vitamin B12 patches can help raise your B12 levels so you don't have to worry about becoming deficient and you don't have to wear them all the time. You can use them one a week until your levels are up and then use them as needed to maintain your levels.
To Use: Simply place the patch behind your ear. Leave on for 24 hours. Or you can even put them on when you're sleeping every night for three nights. Be sure to put the patch back on the paper you peeled it off of when you're not using it. After 24 hours throw the patch away and use another the next time you apply.

B12 Energy Patch by Healthy Habits
How does Healthy Habits®' B12 Energy Patch work?
Each patch contains 1000 mcg of the expensive, highly absorbed active form of Vitamin B-12 (methylcobalamin) and 400 mcg of Folic acid. This is absorbed from the patch through the skin directly into the bloodstream.
Why is Healthy Habits®' B12 Patch the best?
Each patch contains 1000 mcg of the expensive, highly absorbed active form of Vitamin B-12 (methylcobalamin) and 400 mcg of Folic acid. This is important, because most B-12 supplements are of the cheaper, less absorbed, less active form, cyanocobalamin. Best of all, the nutrients can be quickly absorbed simply by applying the patch behind the ear.
Why not use oral vitamin B12 supplementation?
Many multivitamins only contain 1-10 mcg of the cyanocobalamin form of B-12. It then needs to be converted to methylcobalamin before it can be used by the body. The absorbtion of B-12 is a serious problem with oral supplementation. For example, taking 500 mcg of vitamin B-12 can result in as little as 1.8 mcg that will be absorbed into the body. That is 99% waste! Healthy Habits®' B-12 Patches are already in the active coenzyme form the body needs, and are immediately available to the body. Using a patch also allows you to keep a steady and constant release of vitamin B12 over the day.
Why not use sublingual vitamin B12 supplementation?

A patch will release vitamin B-12 into your system over a 24 hour period.
Can I take off the patch and put it back on again later?
Yes, you can remove the patch and so long as it is placed back on the paper backing it will not lose any vitamin B-12 until you replace it on your skin. The surgical glue is sticky enough to withstand several removals and reapplications.
